"10 years after our first Movement and Light exhibition in 2012 at Villa Datris, the Movement and Light 2023 exhibition is much more than a simple anniversary event. I want you to discover, or rediscover, the vitality of this inventive approach – from kinetic art to optical art and the magic of light – which captivates current artists as much as today's public.
Movement and Light 2012 was the expression of an intense passion for abstraction, cubism and kinetic art shared with Tristan Fourtine, my companion, through our artistic choices. With his architectural eye, he was receptive to the accuracy of form, to 3-dimensional space, to the perception of light, so fundamental in his profession.
Movement and Light 2023 is an exceptional exhibition which brings together a set of historical works and artists for whom I have admiration and attachment and which opens up to new artists, heirs of the masters of kinetic art, who use the contemporary tools at the service of their creations. In this exhibition, the presence of women artists remains important. There we find the pioneers who shone during the last Venice Biennale but also more contemporary artists. In addition to the works whose subtle alliance of technology and poetry fascinated Tristan, you will discover, in a surprising scenography, hypnotic installations and immerse yourself in an immersive universe..." - Villa Datris Foundation
