Truchet Clouds are recent research, started in the 2000s, that analyzed the theme of tilings. Abbé Truchet was an 18th-century mathematician and polygraph who adopted the composition by tiling: the modules they are elementary and are arranged on the surface in a stochastic or regular manner creating linear sequences, symmetrical reversals or mirror symmetries. Truchet tiles have been used many times by artists for their combinatorial quality (François Morellet also made use of them...). The surface obtained has a certain power and it is difficult to follow a vision likely to be memorized or reconstructed: the combinations create labyrinthine challenges that force the observer to make continuous insightful decisions to escape the labyrinth.
