ABOUT US

Espace Meyer Zafra is an art gallery founded in 2000 in Paris by Liliane Zafrani, former consultant at UNESCO in charge of cultural programs for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Located in the historic heart of the Marais in a 19th-century Haussmannian building, the gallery is a member of the Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art.

Espace Meyer Zafra has established itself as a gallery committed to defending artists whose work questions forms, movement and perception. Historically rooted in kinetic art and geometric abstraction, the gallery has played a decisive role in rediscovering major artists from these movements while supporting contemporary figures who explore the question of movement and visual illusion.

As part of its commitment to openness and renewal, Espace Meyer Zafra has recently expanded its program by integrating artists who revisit figuration. This transition from kinetic art to figuration aligns with a coherent artistic and conceptual vision, emphasizing practices that explore the perception of reality, narration and representation. This dialogue between abstraction and figuration reflects the gallery’s desire to introduce new voices while remaining faithful to its initial commitment: the rediscovery of important artists in the history of art and the promotion of emerging artists. Over time, institutions and public collections have built strong connections with the gallery, recognizing its role as a mediator and defender of an art in perpetual evolution. Beyond representation, Espace Meyer Zafra actively supports its artists in the production of works, the organization of exhibitions and the development of extensive archives in order to place their research in a historical and critical perspective.

In 2022, the gallery expanded its scope by launching, Editions Espace Meyer Zafra, a publishing initiative aimed at deepening its commitment through the publication of monographs, catalogues and reference books, further documenting and supporting the artistic practices it promotes. By constantly renewing its vision and exploring new perspectives, Espace Meyer Zafra remains faithful to its mission: to reveal, transmit and establish artists within the contemporary art landscape.
